Katie and Johnny had been best friends since grade school but as they grew up and adolescence hit things began to change in their friendship that neither of them would admit to. They didn’t want to ruin that special friendship bond that they had for so long. Johnny’s main focus in high school was forming a rock band and trying to make it big and Katie was there supporting him the whole time. Little did she know that by supporting Johnny’s dream she would have to put up with that old adage of sex, drugs, and rock’n roll. Johnny had his groupies even in high school and Katie was always in the background playing the best friend role even though she wanted something much deeper with Johnny. The question was if Katie was ready to give up this special friendship in case Johnny didn’t have the same feelings as she did. She could only assume that Johnny didn’t look at her as anything other than a friend because he was too busy getting down to business with all of the girls that surrounded him since his band was beginning to take off.Johnny shows up at Katie’s door years later but Katie has had a lot of things that have happened in her life since Johnny’s been gone. A job which she hates and a fiancé that she doesn’t have that spark for but how was Johnny to know any of this especially when Katie isn’t forthcoming with this info. Is Katie going to tell Johnny about her fiancé before one thing leads to another or isn’t Katie ready to take that chance yet of losing Johnny’s friendship? This story is about two people who lost a lot of time because neither of them was honest with each other. It was a quick read and had me captivated the whole time. I fell in love with Johnny and Katie and I was rooting for them the whole time. This is a great rock romance!

How does she tell her best friend this news, when she's kept other things from him? How will Johnny take the news? This author takes her characters and her readers, through so many emotions! This book is a must read!
Katie has secretly been in love with Johnny since way before he became Johnny Church. When he comes back into her life, the timing is wrong—as it always seems to have been between the two of them, she later finds out. In spite of being engaged, she makes an uncharacteristic and impulsive decision to listen to her heart rather than her head. This decision becomes a pivotal moment in their relationship, and the easy friendship she and Johnny once had seems destroyed beyond repair. I loved this one and recommend it to any reader who loves second chance love stories.
WOW...ok...first of all I think I did things a little backwards (but hey, no apologies, I do it all the time)...I read BULLET, ROCK BOTTOM and FEVERISH first and then went back and bought Jamison's first 2 rock books Tangled Web and Everything But. It was like going from tequila shots to lemon lime punch...LOL...but it was still oh so satisfying!
First of all I really love a good hard rocker romance (give me a dirty biker book or a rock band saga and I am a happy woman) and while this earlier work did not have the gritty, raw and dangerous feel of the Bullet series, it was a really hot (at times sweet) and very believable honest love story about two long time friends who realize later in life they were both keeping their feelings hidden from each other.
It is pure pleasure when they reconnect and I felt such a connection to Katie (could totally understand her reluctance to keep living a boring lie) but of course the path to true love is never without some bumps in the road, and Jamison can write some really intense scenes.
While this book is a lot cleaner than most rocker stories, there are still a few knock your socks off bedroom (and other room!!) scenes and they will not disappoint. Quality, not quantity but enough for this short book.

Katie and Johnny have known each other and have been best friends since grade school. She has loved/crushed on him since high school. Johnny started his road to rock stardom in high school as well. Katie kept quiet about her crush as she watched him go from girl to girl, breaking her heart a little more each time. They’ve both grown and had separate lives but have remained best friends over the years and she’s seen him off and on when he stops by to visit when they have a break in touring. Katie had to make some changes to her goals in life to help with her family and seems to have settled into a mundane routine with her job and is now engaged. A fact she doesn’t share with Johnny when he shows up for his most recent visit. During this visit, things take a serious turn and get heated leading to a night of the best lovemaking she’s ever known. Afterwards, when he finds out about Grant, she fears she has lost her best friend. Johnny is angry and hurt beyond words and to say their relationship is strained is putting it mildly. Katie is forced to take stock in her life and decides it’s time for change and refocuses on doing what she had always intended to do. When they reconnect a year later, Johnny makes a comment, trying to not exactly get revenge but make her see what he felt, things somewhat backfire but in a way that finally gets these two to open up and discuss their relationship and what has transpired in the past.
This is a great read filled with personal growth and reflection, life struggles and successes. Both Johnny and Katie felt real and relatable and I was rooting for them from the beginning. Another great rock romance from Jade!
